One of Missouri Preservation’s key missions is to help educate individuals around the state on the importance of historic preservation.
Our primary educational event is the Statewide Preservation Conference, held annually in various historic communities across the state. We strive to offer a variety of hands-on workshops, educational sessions and tours that utilize the history of our host town. A preservation trade show is also held in conjunction with the conference, featuring a variety of trades and resources for our attendees. Currently, the conference is funded in part by a grant from the Historic Preservation Fund, through the State Historic Preservation Office. This grant pairs Missouri Preservation with Certified Local Government Communities (CLGs) around the state. At this time, only CLG cities are eligible to host the Statewide Preservation Conference.
In the past, Missouri Preservation has also hosted a variety of stand-alone workshops around the state as well as classroom-type sessions on the historic preservation tax credit.
