Design Guidelines
Design guidelines are created by a community in order to protect their historic resources, particularly those designated as landmarks or historic districts. Anyone wishing to make changes to a historic property or alter the appearance of a district must gain approval usually from a historic preservation commission or architectural review board. Below you will find links to design guidelines set in place by various communities across the state of Missouri.
