Anne Green has served as the Executive Director of the Historic City of Jefferson (HJC) since September 2018. While there, she has worked to strengthen the voice of historic preservation within the community. She helped lead the rebuilding efforts after the May 2019 tornado severely damaged one of the most historic parts of Jefferson City.
Anne is from Missouri and attended William Woods University where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Marketing and International Business with a minor in French. She worked for a number of years in St. Louis and Houston, Texas in sales before returning to Missouri in 2006 to become a lobbyist.
Anne worked as a contract lobbyist for Penman & Winton Consulting from 2006-2013 at the state Capitol. She helped clients ranging from international corporations to local nonprofits advance their legislative agenda. During the interim, she helped conduct basic and advanced advocacy trainings for nonprofit organizations throught the state. She was also involved with assocation management and campaign fundraising projects.
In 2013, Anne was hired as Executive Director for the March of Dimes. In that role, she oversaw fundraising and volunteer efforts for a large portion of the state. She left the organization to join HCJ with the goal of helping preserve the unique history of Jefferson City for future generations.
