This directory is intended to help the general public find people with expertise in various aspects of historic preservation, be it planning, design, development, financing, tax credits, National Register nominations or accounting as well as museums, venues and other preservation or history-related organizations. The directory is made up of major donors to our organization and is intended to recognize these people and companies for their generosity to the cause of historic preservation in Missouri. It is NOT AN ENDORSEMENT of any of the companies or individuals mentioned.

Engine House No. 1
Engine House No. 1, Inc. is an architectural firm that specializes in Historic Structure Reports, institutional planning, programming and design with an emphasis on historic preservation, including projects at State, County and not-for-profit organization historic sites. Some of their past projects have received Missouri Preservation’s McReynolds and Preserve Missouri Awards. Principal Marion Smith is Vice President of the Benton Park Neighborhood Housing Corporation and a Board member of Friends of the Missouri Governor’s Mansion. She also served on the Board of Missouri Preservation from 2009 through 2018.
Marion studied architecture at McGill University, Montreal and holds Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI. (7/18)
